Pharmacy on Duty in Nicosia: How to Find an Open Pharmacy Tonight

07 Nov 2026

On-call and late-night pharmacies in Nicosia (Lefkosia): live duty lists to cross-check, how the rota and half-days work, and when to go to A&E instead.

Live Nicosia duty pharmacies: compare sources

Open two lists for the same night and compare them. When they disagree, call the pharmacy before you set off.

If a site is down or slow, use the Cyprus-wide night roster and pick Nicosia:

Information only: DocCy does not run these sites. Rosters can change at short notice, so call the pharmacy if you are unsure. This article is not medical advice; in a life-threatening emergency, call 112.

Nicosia (Lefkosia) is the biggest district in Cyprus, and its duty list is the longest: on most nights several pharmacies are open across the city and its suburbs, from Strovolos and Lakatamia to Aglantzia, Latsia and Engomi. More choice is good news, but only if you know which ones are open tonight.

How the duty rota works in Nicosia

Most pharmacies close in the early evening. A group of pharmacies in the district then stays open on a rota that changes daily, usually until late evening, with a few covering the night. The rota is set by date, so the pharmacy that was open on your street last time is probably not open today.

Do not rely on a map pin: Google Maps opening hours for pharmacies in Cyprus are often wrong after hours.

The duty lists cover the pharmacies in the areas under the Republic of Cyprus. Pharmacies in the north of the city are not on these rotas.

Wednesday and Saturday afternoons

On Wednesdays and Saturdays most pharmacies close at lunchtime, and the duty pharmacies start in the afternoon. Check the list before you go out on those days, not only at night.

Before you go

  • Call first. The number is on the duty list. Websites do not always show a short closure or a late change.
  • Check the suburb. With several pharmacies on duty, pick the nearest one by address, and allow for traffic on the main avenues.
  • Bring your ID if you are collecting a GESY prescription.

When it is more than a pharmacy trip

Chest pain, trouble breathing, sudden weakness or confusion, heavy bleeding or a very unwell child need emergency care: call 112 or go to the A&E of Nicosia General Hospital, Archbishop Makarios III Hospital for children, or a private hospital with an emergency department. See which A&E to go to in Nicosia.

For anything that can wait until morning, start with a personal doctor under GESY: personal doctors in Nicosia, or paediatricians in Nicosia for children.
